Taking Summer Shorts into Fall…

Photography by Michelle Bazis

Hello and happy Monday! Though we are nearing the end of August, it is still hotter than heck here in Nebraska, so you better believe that I have been living in shorts and especially this bright and colorful pair! The fun pattern and bold hues are right up my alley and the darling pom pom/lace detail on the hem is just too cute! Not to mention that they are now under $28!  You could transition these to fall with a gray pair of open-toe booties, a black tee and an olive green military/utility vest! I don’t know about you gals, but when I wear shorts, I like to pair them with a long-sleeve top or tunic to balance the amount of skin I show.  So when I was planning a date-night look for these shorts, I knew this tangerine high-low tunic was just the ticket to complete my look! The color works seamlessly with the vibrancy in my shorts and lets me show off my legs in heels without the “trying to hard” vibe.  I threw on my turquoise green and blue jewels and these heels that I pretty much wear all.the.time. and I was good to go!

But the best part of this post and look??? My boys making an appearance! I love how Franklin was looking up at the camera (I wonder where he gets that from?!) and my little Rog is camera shy.  And please note that we do get them groomed and these were taken the night before their grooming appointment! But, I honestly love how they look the most when they are shaggy/fluffy/scruffy pups!

The Cold Shoulder…

Heyooo and happy Friday Eve to you! How is everyone’s week going? Things have been crazy around here with wedding planning underway and we’re getting back into the thick of things at work with our events, plus we are less than two weeks away from the GIRLS NIGHT OMAHA Sip n’ Shop event!  The turnout and show of support for this event has been incredible, and truly humbling.  We sold out of 120 tickets in less than one week! I am so excited to meet all my Omaha gals and talk style with them! It is a passion of mine to encourage every woman to find their personal, unique style that makes them feel good and to create friendships and bonds that empower one another!

This olive green cold shoulder top is sheer perfection (it’s not really sheer, prom prom) and the color makes my skin glow! It not only is a great piece for summer because of the light weight fabric, but will be a dear to layer and pair with a fitted blazer this fall.  I opted for bright accessories and love the play of the earthy shades with neon and floral print! The top, jeans & clutch are from Four Sisters Boutique, which is a fabulous local store in Omaha, so check it out pronto stat!

A Lacey Link-Up…

Hey sister-friends! I love a good monochromatic every now and then so I was itching to wear this casual white, light blue, and gray ensemble for a date-night last week! If you’re a shorty like me, then sometimes causal doesn’t always mean “flats” and Lord knows I own wayyyyy too many great pairs of heels for them to just sit there and collect dust, so I often pair my loose tops & comfy denim with a heel of some sorts!

Speaking of heels, I have these gray lace-up beauties but don’t really ever take blog photos in them, so when Laura of Walking in Memphis With High Heels and Erin of The Fashion Canvas asked me to cohost their Link-Up, and the theme this week was lace-up and/or strappy sandals, I knew this look was just the ticket! Gray shoes are such a versatile color for all the seasons and this particular pair can definitely be dressed up or down and paired with neutrals or neons!

Do you gals have a pair of lace-up or strappy sandals/heels?!  Bloggers will be able to submit their post links via the inlinkz widget below on Tuesday at 8:00am CST with their take on our trend of the week. The linkup runs for 1 week. This allows bloggers to show off their personal style, find new followers and meet some great fashionistas! You will also have the chance to be featured on our blogs the following Tuesday!  For all bloggers, we simply ask that you please follow your two hosts and the cohost of the week – Walking in Memphis in High HeelsThe Fashion Canvas and myself (the first 3 links in the linkup) and provide a link to the Trend Spin Linkup in your post or add the button here to your blog.

Pink + Pops of Blue…

Photography by Michelle Bazis at The Adventure Culture

So, little did I know, that when shooting this look a couple weeks ago that it was going to be the last time I was a single, non-engaged gal! Of course, Michelle, my BF & Photographer (when Tone needs a break ) was in on the whole thing and new the entire time while we were hanging out and taking pics! She was cool as a cucumber!  Little stinker she is 🙂

So this pink & black number was one option I was debating on for my birthday party and I didn’t end up wearing it, but I will definitely be sporting this look for our next date-night as an ENGAGED COUPLE.  I can’t even believe it! I probably stare at my ring about 1,000x a day.  It’s obnoxious, I know, but I waited a hot minute for this rock and I will not stop admiring it for a looooong time!

Hey sistas! Today I’m recapping my favorite July outfits and I can’t believe it’s already August! Today it’s a bit cooler, (mid-70’s) and cloudy, which is giving me a slight itch for Fall! It ends tomorrow night, so hop to it!

And this past month I did not stop wearing my favorite gold bib necklace, along with my mini monogram necklace, because they are such great pieces and I would highly recommend!
