Fringe, Flare and Flannel…

Fall Favorites

Tan Fringe Booties // Burgundy Fringe Heels // Necklace // Flare 1 // Flare 2 // Flare 3

Flannel Cape // Flannel Crop Top // Plaid Satchel // Plaid Wallet

Baby Lips (Cherry Me) & Revlon Dark Stain (Crush) // Revlon Pink Stain (Sweetheart) & Baby Lips (Pink Punch)

You guys, I am looooooving all things fringe, flare, and flannel this Fall! Say that three times fast.   The 70’s are making a major comeback this season and I’m secretly loving it.  I always joke with my parents that I was born in the wrong era because my favorite bands and music are straight out of the 60’s & 70’s!  I love the pairing of plaids and flannels with high-waisted flare denim and do you know the cherry on top??? FRINGE! I love it.  I’m definitely not hippie-dippie but I am dabbling in this trend!

And if you are hesitant about pulling the trigger on a pair of designer jeans, rest easy knowing that you can’t go wrong with high-waisted jeans.  They are timeless, SO flattering, and are great in all four seasons!  Think boots in the fall/winter and darling wedge platforms in the spring/summer!  I prefer a medium to dark wash, as I find them to be versatile as they can be dressed up or down; great for a variety of occasions!

What are you girls loving this Fall?  Thanks so much for reading and have yourselves an awesome day!

Bare Shoulders + Ruffles…

Hola senoritas and senoras! For some reason, this ruffled, off-the-shoulder top reminds me of the red dress dancing girl emoji and makes me want to cha-cha-cha all day long!  This grey top from Chicwish is such a great transition piece from summer to fall and it just goes to show that we don’t need to hide away our bare shoulders just because the weather is starting to cool off.  Grey is super trendy for Fall and so is the 70’s boho vibe!  This top is a beautiful mix of both without dipping too much into hippie territory!

I opted to style it with my favorite pair of high-waisted boot cut jeans, snakeskin pumps and a great clutch!  Add a turquoise necklace for a pop of color & contrast and you are good-to-go!

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice…

Hi friends and happy Saturday! It is most definitely starting to feel like Fall around here and with the sweaters, booties, and scarves comes the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte!  Ahhh, just pretend you are sitting over a hot cup of joe and take a deep breath.  Let that cinnamon spice aroma fill your space and just like that, Fall is here! But I have vowed to not let this Starbucks season turn me into a $5 a day habit, so I am limiting myself to one coffee treat per week! #weddingsaintcheap

PIT // PANERA HAS STOPPED SERVING FRENCH ONION SOUP.  Yes, you are reading this right.  I was devastated when I went to get some soup last night and much to my dismay, was told that they are no longer carrying this flavor.  Say what?!!!  The sweet gal working tried to reassure me that someday in the future they might bring it back… which basically means that soup season is upon us and I am without my favorite soup!  I know, small potatoes in the big scheme of things, but for a recent pescatarian that has digestive issues, finding a soup that sits well, is yummy, and isn’t a calorie-bomb is a rare commodity!  Ok rant over.  So if you have any homemade french onion soup recipes that you care to share, send them my way!

PEAK // We officially booked our wedding photographer!  And signed the contract to our reception venue, paid the deposit for the church, and had our first meeting with our marriage prep facilitator! I LOVE checking stuff off my to-do list, woohoo!

Side note …. One word, Evernote.  You guys, my life has been changed! I can’t believe I am just now discovering this awesome, streamlined organizational system.  With my full-time job, blogging business & events, and wedding planning, things have gotten a bit hectic (in a good way!) and this system has now made organization a breeze!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Friday Faves… IG Round Up!

Hello GF’s and Happy Fri-Yay!!! I thought this day would never come.  I know, so dramatic, but I worked 12 hours yesterday (5:10am wake-up call!) so I am quite happy to see the weekend!  Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorite IG posts and for those of you who aren’t down with the links, this post is for you!

This. Dress.  It is hands down my new favorite dress!  I love the print (duh) and the long-sleeves make it great for Fall & Winter but still suitable for summer when your office is like an ice box! And that ruffle hem.  I can’t.  It is extremely flattering and hangs so nicely.  I would say price is mid-range and it’s worth every penny! Size reference = Small

Bag (old) but almost identical  // Booties (old) but love these & these

It’s no secret that I love patterns, so this skirt definitely had to make it’s way into my closet!  I’m a petite gal, so sometimes the full, and long, midi skirts don’t look great on me, but this skirt is a nice mix of midi and mini!  The length is definitely work appropriate and the black & white stripes can (and will) go with so many tops… the outfit possibilities are endless.

Heels // Sweater (old) almost identical // Gold Monogram (3XL on 18  inch chain)

The love of patterns continues with this polka dot cardigan and neon yellow jacquard skirt!  This skirt was a major sale find and even though it’s a vibrant hue, I plan to carry this well into the deep months of Fall with a black blouse, pink blazer, black tights, and a great pair of booties!

Monogram Necklace // Similar Polka Dot Blouse // Blue & Yellow Necklace // Tank (similar) // Watch

And what’s an IG round up without some pattern-play?  Stripes and plaid is one of my favorite combos and then top it off with stripes and a plaid blanket scarf??? Well, it’s a match made in heaven!  This scarf is $33 and this striped number (with elbow patches!) is $40!

I wore this comfy number last weekend for a day-date with Tone when we went to window shop at the outlet malls and grabbed happy hour sushi!  It was one of those days where wearing jeans, hell, real life pants, was just not in the cards! When in doubt, black high waisted leggings will do the trick.  This sweater is a great transition piece because it’s light weight yet has the warm earth tones that we all crave when the first signs of Fall start to emerge.  Throw on your favorite booties, a leopard infinity scarf just in case it gets chilly, throw your life into a large tote, and just like that, you’re set for a casual Saturday!

Leggings // Sunnies // Scarf (similar)

Now, if you follow me on IG then you know two things to be true.  1.) Donuts are usually spotted in my office, especially on Fridays.  Calories, especially donut calories, donut count on Fridays!  2.) I #cantstopwontstop using this reversible tote!  It is seriously like having 2 bags in 1 for less than $50.  I am debating on which other color combo I want to purchase next.  Yes, that’s right, there is a variety of color combinations and they are all reversible!

Reversible Tote // Donuts (not for sale)

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and enjoy your weekend!

Coffee Talk

Hello beautiful! Okay, so this picture is so me.  It’s bad how much I despise talking in the morning! Poor Tone, he is so sweet and cheery and I, well, am not.  Is anyone else like this? I just like to sip and get all toasty warm in peace.  Alone.  In my bathroom.  With the door closed.  Hey, I am who I am!

Remember awhile ago when I proclaimed a new series called “Coffee with Sara” and was really good about posting every Saturday? But then, life got in the way and I got out of the habit.  So I must apologize for leaving you high and dry!  So today I am re-instating Saturday’s as Girl Talk/Saturday Coffee with Sara and I solemnly swear to be consistent and post as many Saturday mornings as I can!

PIT // Okay, real talk right now…. I spent almost $300.00 on eating out and coffee from 8/3-9/7.  You guys! That. Is. Ridiculous! Like holy hell.  And of course I add the numbers up and then want nothing more than a damn Pumpkin Spice Latte! Go figure.  But I stayed strong and have vowed to not spend moolah on eating out for lunch (it’s not like I don’t grocery shop!) and stop making coffee runs.  God give me strength!

PEAK // I had two pretty amazing business meeting this week and there are some BIG things coming my way, and yours! I can’t share too much right now, but what I can say is that girl power rocks and supporting local businesses, bloggers, and friends is the key to success! And hustle. And prayer.  But you get the gist 🙂

Thanks so much for reading today and have a very blessed Saturday!

Affordable FALL Bags…

Affordable FALL Bags
Black (reversible) Tote // Spotted Clutch // Yellow Clutch (sold out in this color! But I linked a great transitional yellow clutch here!) // White & Black Satchel
Pink Fringe Tote // Tan Fringe Crossbody // Black Beaded Clutch // Nude Envelope Clutch (Gosh, this item is sold out, too! But have no fear, I linked a fabulous dupe that I own!)

Hi gals and happy Friday! Today I’ve rounded up some pretty fabulous Fall bags that are all affordable!!!  The feedback from the Sabby Style Survey was pretty great and those responses will really help me focus on topics that YOU want to see and know about.  So, ask and you shall receive!  Many of you wanted to see more affordable bags because, hey, who doesn’t?!? I ball on a budget (most of the time, sorry Tone) so I am always on the look-out for steals and style dupes to soften the blow to my checking account while keeping me current and on-top of the latest and greatest trends!

ALL BUT ONE of these bags, clutches, and satchels are under $100! ( I think the only one that is more than $100 is the tan fringe crossbody).  And you may be asking, why the heck is there a neon yellow clutch? Wellllll, if you know me, and I’m pretty sure you do, then you know I love me some bright yellow and find that it transitions with ease into Fall.  One of my favorite pairings is a neon bag with an all natural outfit!  And blush pink is very in for Fall, too!

If you guys have any input, feedback, or ideas for what else you would like to see, please do not hesitate to reach out at any time!

Summer Sale??? More like a Fall Staple Sale!

IMG_5652Nordstrom Summer Sale

Hi sister-friends and happy Friday! So Nordstrom is having their end-of-summer sale and all of these pieces you see are on major sale! But don’t be fooled, this “summer sale” is really a fall-staple sale! I don’t know about you, but I don’t normally wear sweaters and blazers in the hot months of summer (umm, hello jeans shorts and white t-shirts!), so I think it’s pretty silly that majority of the thousands of items that are included in this sale are just what you need for complete Fall chicness & style! But hey, this Nordstrom sale gal is not complaining!

I hope everyone has a lovely Labor Day weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Taking Floral Denim into Fall…

20150816-IMG_7081 20150816-IMG_7050

Hi friends! Can  you actually believe it that me, a so-called “fashion blogger” is actually posting on her fashion blog? I know, I know, craziness! How has everyone been? Last week, my work schedule (well, and this week, too) was insane in the membrane on top of hosting the Girls Night Omaha, which was a huge success!  I will be dedicating a blog post to recapping the event and sharing insider pics from the private event! It was such a great evening and in short, my heart is full.

So today I am sharing how I take my summer, floral jeans right on into fall!  I don’t know about you, but I hate saying good-bye to my summer prints and vibrant hues so I try and extend their wear as long as possible.  And how to do this??? Enter versatile tunic, casual tote, and a neutral shoe!  Now you may be thinking, Sara, I see no burgundy/cognac/olive/black, how can this possibly be a fall ensemble? But who said you have to ditch your light colors just because the temps are cooling down?! Getting bang for your buck is all about making your pieces work in all four seasons! Okay, I probably won’t wear these jeans in the dead of winter, but 3 out of 4 seasons isn’t bad!

This white/cream tunic (on sale for under $28!) is such a versatile piece and can be dressed up or down, and taken into cooler temps by adding a great fitting jacket or blazer.  This tunic is cool and casual and doesn’t compete with the floral print in the jeans.  You know what else would be super cute with these jeans? A chunky knit cream or light pink sweater! Swap the wedges for gray booties, and boom, the perfect outfit for a casual weekend look with your boo!

Nude Wedges.  Get Them.  Until there is snow on the ground, I let my tootsies show and regularly wear my wedges and open-toe booties into the heart of fall! I love the juxtaposition that ensues from pairing a thick and cozy sweater with ripped skinny jeans plus airy shoes! Plus, my feet get so hot in boots and socks unless it’s frigid out.

And if you take anything away from this blog post, that would be just how darn amazing this reversible vegan leather tote is.  Seriouslyyyyyyyy, I use it almost every day.  For every occasion.  Plus anything I can throw my entire life into and be out the door in two shakes is a win in my book! It’s under $50.  It’s reversible.  It comes in a variety of color palettes.  Need I say more???? You’re welcome!
