Hi gals and happy Tuesday! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just two days away??? Where the heck did this month go? Though I hate how fast time passes by, I am pretty darn excited to eat my face off on Thursday and to begin decking our halls for Christmas! I used to be quite the shopping procrastinator (like Christmas Eve) when it came to finding the perfect gifts for my loved ones. And after a few hectic experiences and swearing to myself I would never wait to the last minute again, I have finally got my buns in gear to get my shopping done early! I have the most adorable mom and sister, plus some pretty fabulous galpals, so I created this gift guide with them in-mind. Most everything you see here is under $50, plus free shipping! I can’t get over those emoji earrings (like hello, perfect for your favorite social media lovin’ lady in your life) and those black booties are under $75! Not to mention those darling accent pillows and glitter stemless wineglasses are not only darling, but inexpensive and ideal for a cozy homebody and/or wine lover!
You guys, I am looooooving all things fringe, flare, and flannel this Fall! Say that three times fast. The 70’s are making a major comeback this season and I’m secretly loving it. I always joke with my parents that I was born in the wrong era because my favorite bands and music are straight out of the 60’s & 70’s! I love the pairing of plaids and flannels with high-waisted flare denim and do you know the cherry on top??? FRINGE! I love it. I’m definitely not hippie-dippie but I am dabbling in this trend!
And if you are hesitant about pulling the trigger on a pair of designer jeans, rest easy knowing that you can’t go wrong with high-waisted jeans. They are timeless, SO flattering, and are great in all four seasons! Think boots in the fall/winter and darling wedge platforms in the spring/summer! I prefer a medium to dark wash, as I find them to be versatile as they can be dressed up or down; great for a variety of occasions!
What are you girls loving this Fall? Thanks so much for reading and have yourselves an awesome day!
Hi sister-friends and happy Friday! So Nordstrom is having their end-of-summer sale and all of these pieces you see are on major sale! But don’t be fooled, this “summer sale” is really a fall-staple sale! I don’t know about you, but I don’t normally wear sweaters and blazers in the hot months of summer (umm, hello jeans shorts and white t-shirts!), so I think it’s pretty silly that majority of the thousands of items that are included in this sale are just what you need for complete Fall chicness & style! But hey, this Nordstrom sale gal is not complaining!
I hope everyone has a lovely Labor Day weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hello lovies and happy Friday to you all! I am SO SORRY for being m.i.a. these past two weeks. With the house remodel & projects, celebrating our 7 year anniversary, Franklin getting his eye injury, a crazy work schedule, and lots of basketball watching has left me with little time and energy! But, I’m baaaaack! I have some great things in-store for you that I’ll be shooting this weekend and I’m so excited! So to tie yo over, I am re-capping my latest (and greatest) IG posts. All of these pieces are on constant rotation and have weathered many-a-seasons!
Thanks so much for reading and be sure to check back next week for some awesome new pieces I will be styling!! Lots of love to you and TGIF!
Good morning, sistas! Whew, we made it through another week, cheers to that! So Spring has definitely sprung here in NE and I am welcoming it with open arms! Very white, pasty arms, but open nonetheless. I sure hope these warm temps stick around and we don’t encounter any more bouts of bitter cold & snow!
So….I miiiiight have been doing some spring shopping, inspired by these warmer days and Instagram, of course. What I can’t get enough of right now… Marble print, Snakeskin, Neon pastels, Distressed Jeans, + some major arm charm! I would love to know what you have been swooning over and what your favorite Spring trends are! Here are a few items that recently found their way into my closet!
PIT // Goodbye for now Creighton basketball! As I’m sure many of you know, Tony and I are die-hard Creighton basketball fans (his alma mater and I essentially “married” into it) and our season ended on Thursday night. It was a tough season indeed (loosing Doug McDermott was no bueno) with more losses than wins, but man, I sure do love this program and am so fond of the young men that play each year; they are resilient and so fun to watch all year! But, as much as I hate to see the season end, I won’t be too upset trading in indoor winter activities for summer staples that involve outdoor patios, umbrellas, pools, golf course, & cold beverages!
PEAK // THE BASEMENT IS FINISHED. Part One of our remodel will be completely done as of today! My dad is coming over to install our new light fixtures and I am so excited. It is definitely a man-cave, but is much improved from dark wood paneled walls and now has clean & crisp white walls & trim! We hung up a bunch of Tony’s golf pictures and framed posters of when he played baseball at Creighton. And even though I had other ideas for wall decor, I love that we can display Tony’s accomplishments and have it be a space that he truly loves. And you know I gussied it up wish some cute decor that doesn’t over-rule the manly vibe 🙂 My dad will be painting our master bedroom this weekend, too, so once that is done, we will be moving back into that space and I cannot wait! Pics coming soon!
Thanks so much for stopping by and reading today; it means the world to me. Have a blessed weekend, friends!
Hi friends and Happy Monday! What perfect way to kick off the Week of Love than by sharing the ensemble I am going to wear for our Valentine’s Day celebration! I have teamed up with the amazing team from Gordmans to bring you very affordable pieces that can be styled in so many ways and for a variety of occasions! The best part about this look? Together, my skirt and top were under $50!
I have been shopping at Gordmans since I was a little girl, and I can remember playing in the most awesome dinosaur play area in one of their old stores while my mom shopped! I even worked their during high-school as a retail associate. Which is why I was delighted when they reached out for another collaboration! Not only does Gordmans offer name brands and the most up-to-date trends, but they offer them for a fraction of the cost! And even better, they give back. Gordmans believes in giving back to the communities in which it operates. Since 2000, Gordmans has supported Partners in Education and has contributed more than $1 million to public school systems in markets where Gordmans has stores.
And because I love you and Gordmans knows how to treat their customers, I have included an exclusive coupon for you! Simply print off the coupon and use it on your next purchase! And be sure to comment or email me to let me know what awesome pieces you found!

When I received this oh-so-comfy tunic from Meachy Lynn, I couldn’t wait to pair it with my favorite wide-leg 7FAM jeans! This tunic not only comes in this charcoal grey color, but also in a perfectly fall-hued olive green! It is super-duper flattering and as you will see (stay tuned to next week’s post!), it is extremely functional, classic, and simplistic chic; which serves you well no matter what occasion or look you are going for!
