Holiday Gift Guide for HER!

Holiday Gift Guide for HER

Hi gals and happy Tuesday! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just two days away??? Where the heck did this month go? Though I hate how fast time passes by, I am pretty darn excited to eat my face off on Thursday and to begin decking our halls for Christmas! I used to be quite the shopping procrastinator (like Christmas Eve) when it came to finding the perfect gifts for my loved ones.  And after a few hectic experiences and swearing to myself I would never wait to the last minute again, I have finally got my buns in gear to get my shopping done early!  I have the most adorable mom and sister, plus some pretty fabulous galpals, so I created this gift guide with them in-mind.  Most everything you see here is under $50, plus free shipping! I can’t get over those emoji earrings (like hello, perfect for your favorite social media lovin’ lady in your life) and those black booties are under $75! Not to mention those darling accent pillows and glitter stemless wineglasses are not only darling, but inexpensive and ideal for a cozy homebody and/or wine lover!

Tell me what’s on your Christmas wish list!

Cozy at Home with Gordmans

Hi gals and happy Monday!  I am so excited to share that I have teamed up with Gordmans to show YOU how I get cozy at home [Bedroom Style] and on a budget!  Gordmans offers incredible home decor pieces at even better prices and the style and aesthetic of what they carry is on-point.  I joined forces with a few other bloggers who are also showing us how they incorporate Gordmans Fall Style into their home decor, so be sure to check out these fellow blogging babes! [Katalina Girl] [Life On Virginia Street]

Also, Gordmans has granted us the pleasure to offer YOU a 20% off coupon!  Just follow this link and shop away!

Now, let’s break down all the goodies I picked up last weekend at Gordmans!

Gray/Blue Cheetah Tassel PillowGray/Silver Pillow – White/Gray Velour Throw Blanket (navy option linked)

You guys.  I am all about the pillows.  Seriously!  The more throw pillows, the better!  Tony disagrees because he is a trooper and sometimes makes the bed when I don’t have time in the morning before work.  And he knows I cannot stand when our bed isn’t made!  It’s all fun and games until I come home to a disheveled bedroom and a messy bed!  So yes, I have an unhealthy addiction with really cute throw pillows.  It’s not good.  Or is it??? Usually the pillows I pick out are way over budget, but to my delightful surprise, the enormous selection of affordable throw pillows that Gordmans has is truly a pillow hoarder’s dream!

Throw Blankets (really soft and cozy throw blankets) are also a major weakness of mine.  Therefor,  felt like a kid in a candy store when trying to choose just one!  The patterns, fabrics, colors, fringe, etc.!  I mean, how is a girl to choose.  This gray and white geo print fringe number definitely had to make it’s way home with me!

White Heart Mug (not online yet)

When I can quench my thirst (hobby) for collecting coffee mugs, and for under $6 bucks, I skip down the aisles drunk on the brown stuff!  I saw this darling white heart-handle mug, and it’s 20 ounce cup of goodness, and knew it would have a place in my cabinet!  Gordmans has such a great selection of mugs, tumblers, and water bottles in all shapes, sizes, and colors!  Like pillows, more the merrier.

Silver-Mirrored Picture Frame (similar) – Gray Lamp (cool option) – White Ceramic Fragrance Bead Holder – Silver/White Candle

You know when you have certain spaces in your room/house that are your “me” place.  Where, on the outside it looks pretty and neat, but hiding in the drawers is an ungodly amount of used tissues and a heaping pile of receipts for items that you’ll “probably return”.  Well for me, that place is definitely my nightstand!  Lately, I’ve been feeling uninspired and unsure as to how I wanted to spruce it up.  But literally after a few short minutes of roaming the aisles, I was pleasantly overwhelmed with how many fun and unique items Gordmans carries!  They sure do have an abundance of darling home goodies.  We will eventually be getting new, all-white bedroom furniture, but in the mean time, I am incorporating interesting accent items into our bedroom to keep it fresh and airy!

Blue Painted Canvas ( not online but love this one) – Silver Eiffel Tower (not online but this Eiffel Tower Canvas is perfection!) – “Happily Ever” After Jewelry Plate (not online) (Parisian Jewelry Plate)

I’m a sucker for uplifting sayings and I can always make room for more!  I believe that a woman’s bedroom should be a place of serenity, positivity, and a safe space to retreat when the daily grind gets tough and you need a reprieve.  Adding little quotes on neat decor pieces that remind us to be happy, be great, and to just be, are what makes a house a home.  Gordmans has such a great selection of painted canvases, framed prints, and all sorts of fun wall art!  I had such a hard time deciding on only one to bring home with me!

I bought this silver Eiffel Tower and “Happily Ever After” Eiffel Tower jewelry plate because I will be traveling to Paris in March!  I love when pieces not only inspire but actually tell your story and remind you of the greatest adventures, and I imagine that these two items will do just that.  Not only will our London and Paris trip be one for the books, but getting engaged to Tony truly was the most amazing day of my life and I can’t wait to live Happily Ever After.

And look who happened to come home in the middle of shooting our room?! Oh my sweet Tone.  He is down-right goofy, always smiling and laughing, and he melts my heart!  Still after 7.5+ years, he steals my heart and there is no one else I would rather create a home with.

Felt All Over The World…

Good morning friends and happy Saturday.  Happy because it’s the weekend.  Happy because we have one more day to hug our loved ones tight.  But terribly sad and heartbroken due to the tragic events that took place yesterday in Paris.  I will never understand how and why things like this happen, not only in our country, but all over this great big world.  My heart aches and breaks for every person affected by this horrific act, but also for every person who has ever been touched by this beautiful country.  Michelle and I are traveling to Paris in March and even without having visited yet, I feel their loss, pain, and devastation.  Prayers for Paris.

God Bless.  xoxo – Sara

Morning Coffee + Time with Him

Good morning sister-friends and happy Saturday!  How was everyone’s week?  Mine was swift and busy which makes the days fly by… and I’m not complaining because Friday got here in the blink of an eye!  I thought I would share something a bit personal and let you in on how I spend my Saturday & Sunday mornings…. praying, listening, and reading/doing my bible study.

DISCLAIMER – I am in no way an expert on religion, nor a theology major, nor am I here to preach/push/make anyone feel uncomfortable about the topics of God, Jesus, and religion.  So if this post isn’t for you, that’s ok! I’ll see you on Monday for a fresh new outift/IG recap post 🙂

Now let me back the bus up for a second to give you some {brief} history!  I was born and raised a practicing Roman Catholic and attended a private Catholic grade school (1st through 8th) and a private, all girls, Catholic high school.  I went to church every Sunday with my mom, dad, and sister and LOVED it.  Yes, I truly loved having that hour every Sunday morning (though none of my family are early risers, thanks mom!) with my family and growing our faith in God.  Then afterwards we would go to Burger King for early lunch and there was a clown named Ginger Snaps who would often frequent that location on Sundays and it was always a fun surprise if Ginger Snaps would be there or not!  For those of you who are afraid of clowns, this would not be fun… But because I have such fond memories of her and the happiness she brought to my sister and I, I am forever fond of clowns!  Shoot, she even did my birthday party one year 🙂  And other Sundays, we would join my entire family (grandpa/grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins) at a restaurant (I think it was called Brown Cow!) for brunch and they had the best chocolate milk everrrrr!

So the point is, I love(d) being Catholic and going to church with my family.  But then college happened and then being a young (and sometimes stupid) adult happened and I got out of those awesome habits I had spent my entire life building along with my weekly routine of attending church, praying, listening, believing, and knowing.  So fast forward a few years, and it was about this time last year, that I decided I needed to rediscover my faith and truly learn about the Bible, read scriptures, study their meaning, and re-educate myself on the history of my religion.  Aka why do I believe what I grew up believing? And how does it apply to my life now???  PS, it totally does!  So to help me in that journey, I purchased an awesome bible, and a few study guides.

The bible I chose is the Modern Life Study Bible – God’s Word For Our World.  This is a study bible, which has thousands of study features full of fresh insights along with hundreds of full-color maps, diagrams, charts, and illustrations.  This bible is an informative resource for modern believers and helps me apply God’s Law and meaning to life now, life today!

The study guide that I am currently working through and would highly recommend is “Jesus Is_____” by Judah Smith.  It reads like a book! And the author is a very down-to-earth, humble pastor in Seattle that tells it like it is and reassures us that God loves us.  For those of you who are hesitant and don’t want to feel preached upon or judged, this book is for you.

Here are three other guides/devotionals I have recently picked up and will be starting soon!

Book of John Study Guide

I know this particular topic isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but in keeping true to myself, my values, and the authenticity of this blog, I feel it’s important to show all sides of me, not just the pretty clothes! So thank you so much for reading and have a great day!

Near and Dear to my HEART

Hi friends and happy Humpday! How is your week treating you? It has been pretty rainy and actually quite cold (low of 38 last night!) so I’m lagging but I have some cool news to share with you!  As most of you know, I work for a local nonprofit organization called Heartland Family Service.  And as most of you all know, I truly love my job!  Our mission is to strengthen the lives of individuals and families in our community through education, counseling and support services. From more than sixteen locations in Nebraska and Iowa, we serve people of all ages and all incomes — most on a sliding fee scale.  Last year, we served over 65,000 people in their time of need!

Today is Omaha Gives! which is an annual 24-hour charitable challenge to benefit Omaha-Metro area nonprofits. This community give-together begins at midnight on May 20 with a minimum gift of only $10.  As friends of mine that have big hearts, I invite you to show some love and donate to this agency and mission that is near and dear to my heart; Heartland Family Service.  Your generous and thoughtful gift allows us to continue the impactful and life-saving work that we can offer to the most vulnerable in our community.  Thank you in advance for your love and support!

Good as Gold + N Side a Diva’s Closet

Hello loves!  Today I am doing a product review for the company N Side a Diva’s Closet and I am happy to report that I love all of the products they so kindly sent me!

These mint and neon yellow earrings are pretty much everything! I am always leery about large, statement earrings because I dislike heavy pieces that pull down on my little lobes and I end up having to take off half-way through the night.  These definitely make a statement but did not once feel uncomfortable or heavy! I paired them with neon yellow pumps, camo skinny jeans, a deep-v draped black blouse, a dainty gold necklace, and a cream and gold Jimmy Choo clutch!  It was one of those nights where everything came together so effortlessly! And of course I forgot to snap a pic 😦  I am going to have to recreate it again soon!

As of late, I have been drawn to dainty bangles and bracelets (it all started with my first Alex & Ani purchase!) so I was eager to receive this particular piece.  Also, I have super duper small/skinny wrists and this particular bracelet was just the right size for me! I love the gold and yellow/amber stone and I think it will pair nicely with all of my go-to armcharm pieces!

LOVE! Gold, bling and the message of Love… what else could a gal need in one necklace? Don’t get me wrong, I love a large, bold and bright statement necklace, but sometimes, simple is best!  I paired this necklace with a sideways cross necklace that Tony got me for Christmas two years ago (I wear it everyday!), a simple black v-neck tee, distressed denim and a pair of white patent leather pumps! It was just enough sparkle to add to my laid-back look while keeping the look simple and carefree!

Be still my heart.  I love the coral and bright blue hues of this bracelet and it has the perfect amount of stretch which ensures a great fit for everyone! I wore this bracelet with neon peach boyfriend-esque pants from Gap, a cream sweater with neon paint-splatter details and nude bow heels.  It added just the right amount of punch to my work look!  These colors work marvelously together and would look great with many, many ensembles!

Thanks for stopping by and as always, your support and friendship truly means the world to me! Have a great day Gal Pals!

Tuesday Bluesday

Hello ladies and Happy Tuesday!  So today I wanted to share with you my current color crush = blue!  I don’t know why, but in the past I have loved blue on everyone else but never thought it was a good color for me.  I even have bright blue eyes and have always been told (by my mom) that blue looks ‘SO GOOD’ on me, but I just wasn’t buying it… literally!  But, as of late, I have been opening my fashion-box and welcoming some blue hues into my life and wardrobe!  Here are some pieces that I am swooning over and hope to make mine sometime soon!Tuesday Bluesday
Also, this Thursday I am co-hosting Spotlight of the Week Link-up with Jacqueline from Stylin in St. Louis and Elle from Living in Color Style, so make sure you visit our blogs and link up your fabulous Menswear-inspired ensembles!  Mush Alert… I just want to say thank you to all of my family, friends, and readers for supporting this little blog of mine and stopping by to see what’s new; it truly means the world to me!
