Staple Stripes + Classic Vest…

Hey gals and happy Thursday!  I have to admit that I am not great about wearing vests.  Like, I want to be a vest person so badly!  And I admit that I have quite a few of them, but for whatever reason I just don’t seem to automatically reach for them when putting the finishing touches on my outfit.  I think it partly has to do with that I am on the bustier side of life for my petite 5″2 frame, so the idea of adding layers (aka bulk) to my body doesn’t seem appealing!

However, life. changed…. Introduce this fabulous black vest/sleeveless trench!  It is sleek, streamlined, and was made to compliment a woman’s body.  The cut, even worn unbelted and open, is not large and baggy, but has a nice tailored look!  Plus it’s 40% off, making it under $54!  This is a classic closet staple that can transition from season to season quite seamlessly and it won’t ever go out of style!

I wanted to keep it casual so I opted for a basic striped tunic tee, black fleece lined leggings, the gray booties I wear all the time, and my very favorite reversible tote!

Hey sistas! Today I’m recapping my favorite July outfits and I can’t believe it’s already August! Today it’s a bit cooler, (mid-70’s) and cloudy, which is giving me a slight itch for Fall! Easy Breezy…

Hey chicks! How is everyone’s week going so far? I wore this easy breezy outfit last Sunday to a 1st birthday party! My cousin Kimmy (check out her amazing hand-made stationary right here, it is SO cute!) has two boys, Elijah & Jack, and I refer to them as my nephews because even though Kim and I are cousins, we were like sisters growing up, with us being 3 years apart.  So her boys are the first grandkids in our family and it is such a joy watching them grow into little people!

It has been in the hundreds here this past week so this was the perfect outfit for a very hot and humid afternoon birthday gathering!

Flirty in Floral & Short Locks…

I can’ tell you the last time I felt this free and light and it’s all in part to my new, short locks and this darling floral dress!  I’ve been holding onto my long locks for so long now that I really felt (super) ready to chop-chop and sport a new look.  Even my hair gal aka the Hair Whisperer, was hesitant to cut it short so after two visits, she finally was like okay, let’s do it! She did such an amazing job with the cut and we added some lighter, blonder pieces, too.  I feel summer ready!  In fact, I used to have to re-style my hair a few times through out the day and with this shorter cut, I haven’t had to do that once.  Not once! Ahh, I’m a happy camper!

And you know what else makes me happy? Easy, breezy dresses that you can throw on and feel instantly good… well, girlfriends, meet this floral number from Juliana’s Boutique!  The fabric is so light and soft, and it drapes so effortlessly.  Also, I love that it has the off-the-shoulder look along with straps! For ladies who have bigger chests, this was made for us.  And the straps are adjustable so it’s a great fit for all!  I went with a size Small and it runs a bit loose for that boho vibe!

Rips + Blonde Tips…

Helllloooo gals and happy Fri-Yay!  The weather this week has been completely dreary, rainy, stormy, and quite gloomy but last weekend, the sun was a’shining and I knew I had to wear this beautiful floral top!  I wore it with dark denim and flats to my coworker’s baby shower Saturday morning then opted for these ripped jeans and nude heels for a day-date with Tone.  I’m all about that bass, bout that bass… bout them ripped jeans!  Like. I. Can’t. Stop. Buying. Them.  And when they are under $45 bucks, you just can’t say no.  And it’s no surprise I’m wearing my TAudrey Sabby Style Bracelet Set!  This set comes with three bracelets but sometimes I go for a simple stack and wear the gold initial plate solo.  This is just another testament to how versatile and lovely this set is.  Be sure to use the code sabbystyle10 at check-out to get yourself a sweet discount treat!

Saturday Girl Talk + IG Round Up

Hi gal pals and happy Saturday!  Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorite IG looks from the month of April along with my pit and peak of the week!

PEAK #1 // First, yesterday we got to celebrate our amazing coworker and her baby-to-be with a High Tea Shower at our boss’s casa and it was so great!  She is just glowing and I can’t wait to meet her little baby girl!  I’m sure most of you can relate to either having a little one of your own or having friends who are expecting or are new moms, but there is something so special (and it’s truly a miracle!) in watching a friend go through the stages of pregnancy and to hear the stories and moments that they are experiencing along this journey.  I’m so blessed to have the chance to share in this with her and my amazing Team of awesome coworkers!  Great people and energy make work feel not-so-much like work 🙂

PEAK #2 // This girl got herself a new camera lens!  Yes, this is a big deal for two reasons.  One, my knowledge of my camera and all of the technical jargon is really over my head and I’ve been operating at a child-like pace since getting it almost a year ago.  And two, I have been so frustrated and sad with how my pictures are translating from camera to computer to blog to Instagram.  So after much research and asking my fellow blogging beauties, it became clear that a 50mm lens will be a game-changer!  And I dinked around with it last night and already I am over the moon!  We’re shooting blog photos and I am just tickled and can’t wait to share them with all of you next week!

PIT // You guys, I don’t have one.  Literally, I sat here typing this post and drew a blank on this.  I’m sure there were plenty of tiffs and irritating moments at home and at work, but over-all, it was a productive week, I got my workouts in, my dogs got groomed, I worked really hard, and actually got some good sleep!

Shabby Apple

Hi friends and happy Monday to you all!  Where. Did. The. Weekend. Go.  Oh I know, today we are starting construction on our master bedroom so we spent all day Sunday clearing out every single piece of furniture, clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, pictures, decor, and tv out of the bedroom and man, was that exhausting! BUT, I think this was the boost we needed to finally start updating our house.  It’ll be 5 years in July that we’ve been here, but I didn’t know how long-term our stay was going to be, so we haven’t made any cosmetic changes to it.  But after doing some major evaluation and realizing that we have a house that has some great bones and lots of space, plus an amazing location and one of the most desired neighborhoods in Omaha, I think we are here to stay!  I am a bit overwhelmed in thinking where in the heck we will start.  But thankfully my dad is not only a talented graphic designer, he just so happens to be a master carpenter and will help us make our home dreams come true!  First things first, knock out a wall and build out our master bedroom closet and then paint the wood work white through out the house! Wish us luck 🙂

Now, onto this darling (so so darling) pink Shabby Apple skirt!  It speaks to me.  This shade of pink is just brilliant and the fit of this skirt is on-point.  The lovely sheer lining and stripe detail turns an ordinary pink skirt into a bold, sassy piece! I opted for my favorite chambray shirt, a fun necklace, my new Beau Bag, and my go-to nude pumps.  Let’s face it, when you are wearing this skirt, you don’t need much because it pretty much is the outfit!
