But First… Coffee + IG Lately

Hello friends! How was everyone’s week? I apologize for the lack of blog posts these past few days!  I. Was. Exhausted.  I needed a week to decompress and recover from our Gala last Saturday (which was super successful, btw and thanks so much for your kind words and well wishes!) and getting some things crossed off my long overdue to-do list!  That being said, I am soooooo happy it is the weekend and a normal weekend, at that!  I plan to spend lots of quality time with Tone and the pups, have a lazy morning in bed with multiple cups of coffee, doing some much needed grocery shopping, and of course, shooting some bloggity blog photos!

PIT // Even though we are grateful that Roger’s diabetes diagnosis is manageable and treatable, these vet trips and subsequent bills are getting outrageous!  I would spend zillions of dollars on my dogs, like legit, I would, but good gosh there has to be a break soon!  But I am reminded just how lucky we are that we have the means to give him a long and healthy life, so the complaining bus stops right here!  If I have to not buy that pair of shoes or those white distressed jeans I’ve been eyeing, then so be it!

PEAK // Hearing so many lovely words of praise and support that our Team received after a successful fundraising event.  You guys, I am so very blessed to work with such a talented and incredibly intelligent and cool group of women that inspire and drive me every day.  The customer experience of our guests was 110% percent and people so generously poured their hearts and pockets out to support the amazing programs and services that our agency provides!  If you want to learn more about Heartland Family Service, click here! Classic Striped Dress with a Fresh Twist

Hello loves and happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!  I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect striped dress for Fall and I was a lady in love when I opened the package to find this lovely dress from The Retail Therapist Boutique waiting for me.  Every Fall and Winter, I try and find a great fitting (I’m wearing a Small, btw), long-sleeve dress that can be worn for many different occasions.  Whether it be with my pink Hunter rain boots and a cozy cardi with a big topknot (I might just have to do a blog post in that!), or as seen here, with oxblood booties, a statement necklace and a crisp, tailored vest!  Versatility is key and this dress was just the right mix of classic stripes with a fun interested criss-cross back detail.

Friday Frills + Final Day of Meachy Lynn Sale

Hey girls!  Happy Friday to you all!  I don’t know about where you guys live, but here in NE, it has been hotter than heck and today is no exception! Heat index of almost 110 degrees, yikes.  It is so hard for me to get dressed and put effort into my hair when it is ridiculously humid and sticky!  But, all hope is not lost.  Enter this white lace and pleated tank compliments of Meachy Lynn!  It is light and airy and was just the ticket for a summer night ensemble!

Anchors and Dots… Why Not?!

Hello gals!  First, let me apologize for the mirror selfie in this post.  Tony was m.i.a. aka in Vegas and wasn’t here to take my blog pics!  But, the weather this weekend is suppose to be great here in NE and you best believe T-rizz will be snap, snap, snappin’ away!

In the mean time…. let’s chat about this little combo.  I’m kindaaaaa loving this anchor and dot combo! The tee is from Old Navy and was on the cheap-cheap (like $5 cheap, hello no brainer!) and the skirt is an old Loft Outlet find.  I was finally able to get my hands on this J.Crew necklace!  I don’t’ wear it too often, but when I do, it’s glorious! (Did you catch the Dos Equis reference?) 🙂

Side note: I am in desperate need of some new nude pumps! Does anyone have any suggestions? These target beauties have served me well the past two/three years and have physically held up so well!  Unfortunately, my right foot (ball of my foot) absolutely kills after every wear, so I must retire them to the Goodwill box.  I’m willing to spend some moolah on a new pair, as I see them as an investment pieces because I wear them at least three-times a week to work!  Any helpful hints or insider tips would be greatly appreciated 🙂

A Poppin’ Clutch!

Hello gals!  I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and a great Monday!  My Monday started off great, as I was able to promote our fundraiser event, bright and early on a local news show with one of our VP’s (Basically very fun, but nervous and exciting and a career first = great experience!)

But then tone called and told me some not so great news.  He was taking the boys on their daily walk in the park when Franklin was suddenly attacked by a very large Shepard/Husky breed of dog.  Thankfully, Tony was super quick to react and was able to save Franklin.  Literally, save his life.  Our other pup was so scared that he tried to run and get away.  And guess how bad the dog’s owner felt? Zero.  Nothing.  They didn’t event react or run to help.  I cannot tell you how mad it makes me that ignorant, irresponsible people put others in danger.  There is a leash-law for a reason.  The dog appeared friendly and then out of nowhere, attacked Franklin and punctured his neck and ribs.  And I’m not even mad at the dog; I am a true animal lover to the core.  I believe that bad/harmful pets are created by irresponsible/negligent owners.

It could have been so much worse and I am so thankful to have my little guy still here with us.  I will be cuddling the poo out of him!  So word to the wise, please leash your dogs and be a responsible pet owner!

Floral Me Rad!

 

Hey gals!  I hope everyone had an awesome Memorial Day Weekend!  It is back to the grind which is cause for a bright pencil skirt and floral blouse to put some pep in my step!  I have been itching to wear this linen button-down and thought that the bright yellow skirt was just the match.  I have always had this notion that prints weren’t for me or because I am so short, I should steer clear of big prints.  So I never thought I could pull off something like this blouse, but I, in fact, have fallen head-over-heels for said print (actually, all prints in general!) and now I can’t get enough!  This just goes to show that style knows no-limits and it is all about tweaking trends and looks to make them work for your personal style!
